The NoTree House is a ‘tree house’ for the urban environment. A contemplative and playful place, or just an escape from the mundane, familiar and hard uninviting city surroundings.
Aimed at all ages the NoTree House was designed for modern living where access to any tress are limited, looking at small gardens, back yards or concrete landscapes.
The intention of the project was to produce effects through the control of views and manipulation of light that comes into the space, to create a tree house like experience inside.
It was important that these effects were of low-tech input, but producing a façade of hi-tech output, meaning the unit was self-sufficient, needing nothing more than the surrounding environment.
